Designation : Lead Engineer

India Innovation Center (IIC) has a vast talent pool of Engineering and IT professionals working with teams around the world. Established in 1999, we are today the largest design and development center for the GE Industrial business globally, employing over 1000 professionals, working on global projects and programs.


Essential Responsibilities:

Design and development of web application using .NET technology (C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, Web services)

Sound knowledge in Database design (tables and writing stored procedures/Triggers, Views) preferably SQL server or Oracle

Participate and direct review teams for the designs.

Knowledge of web server deployments and configurations.

Good knowledge in SDLC, software architectures and design patterns.

Strong track record and commitment of delivering projects on schedule to the specifications

Strong ability to direct and manage projects involving multiple locations and remote resources

Ability to create and manage technical specifications from marketing product requirements

Experience in working with Product management and marketing to apply leading edge technology to the identified customer needs and requirements

Perform and direct PC based software/database design, coding and testing.

Perform and direct evaluation and implementation of software design and emulation tools.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc in Computer Science with software concentration.

Experience: 3- 4 years in product development and system design including the following is required:

Experience in software project management

Significant experience in software engineering

Proven track record of delivering leading edge technology solutions on time and budget

Managing and designing PC/Web based application software using ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, etc.

Managing and designing of real-time systems applications using Client/Server and WEB technology.

Managing and designing using databases like SQL Server, MSDE, Oracle, etc.

Managing and designing using all Windows Operating Systems such as XP, Windows Server 2000, Windows NT, etc.

Managing and designing using multi-threading real-time techniques.

Managing and designing WEB Browser and IIS Server based software using ASP, ADO, etc.

Managing and performing system debugging and interfacing using APIs.

Technical writing and review of design specifications, operation instructions, etc.

Experience with standard engineering software methodologies.

Desired Characteristics:

Strong project management and scheduling experience in software engineering and in technology

Strong experience with WEB based designs including use of Microsoft IIS

Strong experience with projects using Microsoft Visual Studio tools and environment

Experience in communication system design involving APIs

Experience with communication protocols such as SOAP, SNMP, HTTP and IP/TCP etc.

Experience with distributed real-time multi-tasking networked systems

Experience with GUI designs

Knowledge of production set up.

Has worked on big integration projects.

Desire to learn new technologies

Good inter-personal skills.

Demonstrated excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills

Good English language and overall communication skills.

Create, review and manage the technical information flow for technical writing to create the product manuals.
